Causes of periodontal disease

It is estimated that 80% of all adult Americans have experienced some form of periodontal disease in their lifetime. Periodontal disease, better known as gum disease, can vary from inflammation of the gums with more serious conditions that cause serious damage to the mouth. The bone and soft tissue supporting the teeth can be damaged, causing loss of teeth.
